CPRAM, Thailand’s largest manufacturer of frozen foods and part of CP Group, has announced that total sales of frozen products such as tom yum goong, fried chicken and curried duck have reached THB7.5 billion this year, a 15 percent increase from last year.
The rise can be attributed to lifestyle changes among consumers, who today are living faster-paced lives in smaller households, according to Wiset Wisitwinyu, CPRAM senior vice president. He also credits his company’s varied selections of frozen foods.
On the market right now are more than 20 products specially prepared for the vegetarian festival, such as mushroom dumplings, green curry to meat-free Isaan spicy salad, all of which are sold through the ubiquitous 7-Eleven chain.
The market expects to grow additional 15 percent next year as CPRAM prepares to export their products to other countries in ASEAN, MThai reported.
