Abstract art is not always just a blank canvas with a deep title.
TARS Gallery, the new art space in Phra Khanong, presents its first group exhibition “Untitled 1.” No one forgot to give it a name — organisers say the show is a breakthrough for artists to create artworks “with no limits”. The lack of narration in the title will allow visitors to go beyond the common perspective, and approach it in their own creative way, they say.
The exhibition, which will also mark the grand opening of the gallery, will showcase various artists of diverse artistic styles.
Works will be exhibited by well-known creators, such as minimalist artist Alexandre Lavet, NASA’s creative and scientific designer David Delgado, and conceptual installation artist Elissa Rae Ecker.
Also thinking outside the box will be furniture maker Natanel Gluska, experimental architecture studio New Territories mindmachinemakingmyths, local abstract artist Peerawat Krasaesom and sculptor Thomas Merrett.
The grand opening ceremony is on Saturday at 6pm. The exhibition runs until Jan. 8 on Wednesdays to Fridays, and appointments for viewings can be made.
