Suvarnabhumi wants new bomb detectors

New explosive detection devices could be coming to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Blaming the high cost of maintaining existing bomb detectors, airport officials said they may replace the devices with updated units, according to Airports of Thailand president Nitinai Sirismatthakarn.

They’ve proposed an additional THB100 million budgeted for the purchase. If approved, the acquisition wouldn’t happen until 2017, state media reported.
