Suvarnabhumi considers electronic tracking of tourist predators

Fool foreign guests once, shame on you. Try fooling them again, and your monitoring device will alert the authorities.

A court is considering electronically tagging touts convicted of duping tourists to keep them away from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Pleased by their use to keep an eye on convicted drunk drivers, the district court in Samut Prakan wants to bring the same technology to deter cons who prey on visitors at the airport, which has struggled to rout organized gangs from operating there.

The court, airport authority and corrections officials will discuss the viability of implementing such a system, The Nation reported.
