As if getting her purse snatched wasn’t not enough, a woman alleges the thief went on explain she could get her stuff back if she had sex with him.
She declined the indecent proposal and Thonglor police this morning arrested a motorbike taxi driver and his girlfriend suspected of the theft.
The woman, whose name was withheld, reported the theft of her purse to police yesterday, saying it was stolen by a couple on Rama IV Road. When she called her smartphone which remained inside the purse, the motorbike taxi driver picked up and offered to return it if she slept with him.
After the police tracked down the smartphone, Kitti Saetang, 28, and Duangdao Podech, 28, were arrested in their rented home on Soi Sukhumvit 22 in the Klong Toey district, where they found a woman’s purse, three smartphones and 1.1 kilograms of crystal meth.
Kitti confessed to verbally harassed the victim. He had recently been released from prison for property theft last year and became a motorbike taxi driver in Khlong Toei. Kitty has a long record of snatching valuables in Bang Na, Khlong Ton, Phra Khanong, and Thonglor districts and used the money he stole to buy drugs, MThai reported.
