Suspect arrested in gruesome murder of bank clerk

Police have apprehended a noodle vendor for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder of a bank clerk late last week.

On Wednesday night, Bangkok police arrested Pradit Suwannaphak, 36, for charges connected with the murder of Kriangkrai Khwan-on – a bank clerk whose body was discovered brutally dismembered on April 18.

Shortly after his arrest, Pradit took police to a pond where he claimed to have dropped the victim’s head. After a search of the pond, police recovered a skull with a bullet wound in it, but have not yet been able to confirm that the skull was Kriangkrai’s.

Upon questioning, Pradit said that he had murdered Kriangkrai after the latter had decided to end a sexual relationship between the two.

Police are still entertaining the possibility that Pradit acted with accomplices in Kriangkrai’s murder.

The Bangkok Post reports that police have since released Chaiyaporn Sai-Eng, a dentist and potential suspect in the case, from custody.
