Surin province, which is known for its population of elephants, plans to break its own Guinness World Record for holding the largest elephant buffet feast next month.
Sixty tons of fruits and veggies will be served on a 400-meter-long table for a total of 279 elephants. The event will be held in front of Phraya Surin Phakdi Si Narong Chang Wang Monument from Nov. 19 to 20, according to Director of Surin Administrative Organization Kittimet Roongthanakiat.
The province aims to destroy the record it set in 2003 when 269 elephants gathered to eat 50 tons of pineapples, watermelons, cucumber and sugarcane.
