New research has revealed that bestselling condom sizes among Thai men has increased from 49mm to 52mm.
Ansell Co Ltd, which produces condoms for brands Blowtex, Jissbon, LifeStyles and SKYN, revealed the findings after a meeting on Wednesday between government officials and 20 condom manufacturers.
They were discussing increasing production of condoms in Thailand in a frankly inspired move to help rubber farmers suffering from the recent price collapse.
Ansell senior marketing manager Nawin Changchareonkun said the research also revealed strawberry was the most popular flavor among Thai consumers.
Mmm, fruity.
Let’s not forget, Thailand tied with India last year for the world’s second shortest penis. Maybe that ranking needs an update.
Ansell produces 2.8 million condoms each year, of which 99 percent is imported to 75 other countries. The data is based on the 1 percent of products sold in Thailand, Bangkok Biz News reported.
Meanwhile, Dr. Boonchai Somboonsuk, Secretary to the Food and Drugs Administration, said producing more condoms would increase rubber usage in the country.
Thailand produces 9,000 tons of condoms annually, with 80-90 percent created from natural Thai rubber.
Boonchai said the private sector was willing to double production if the government granted a loan to help them with machinery purchases and other production improvements.
The Department of Disease Control also must devise a policy encouraging Thais to use condoms more often, he added.
More sex and more money for farmers! Everybody wins!
