The Nation is reporting that Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan has officially announced that she will not run for the position of MP of the Don Muang district as a candidate for the Pheu Thai Party. Meanwhile, Tankhun Jittitsara has been chosen as the Democrat Party’s candidate for that same position.
Tankhun has expressed confidence that he has a better chance of winning this time around, since he has not stopped working for his constituents since he was defeated by the now disqualified Karun Hosakul last July 2011.
According to Korn Chatikaanij, a Democratic deputy leader in charge of the Bangkok area, the party’s executive board decided to choose Tankhun for the by-election since he has been working for the residents of Don Muang ever since the Bangkok floods of 2011.
