Students toss grenade at public bus, injuring 5

Five students of a Bangkok technical college sustained injuries yesterday after a hand grenade was thrown into a Route 101 public bus that the group of 63 students were traveling on. The injured students were sent to a nearby hospital.

Witnesses told Talat Phlu police that the perpetrators were students of a rival school. The suspects were riding on motorcycles during the attack, which happened near a bus stop on Soi Ratchada Thaphra 14. The grenade did not come inside the vehicle but exploded when it hit the bus’s window.

Police are also searching the other 58 students and found 11 knives in their possession. No one claimed ownership of the weapons. Authorities are reviewing footage of surveillance cameras near the scene, Dailynews reports.
