The BMA has announced that they will shut the Asoke intersection flyover to make repairs to it for about 300 days next year. This will only worsen traffic entering the intersection from New Phetchaburi Road.
Some of the traffic lanes beneath the bridge will also be closed for 120 days so that the crew can repair the support pillars for the flyover.
Among the BMA’s plans for minimizing traffic in the area, drivers will be asked to use alternative routes.
The work will start in early 2018 and cost THB170 million. The flyover has not undergone major repairs since it was built in 1976.
