Pad Thai is not only a cause for Thai pride and sense of unity but also carries a universal currency.
According a report from the state-run National News Bureau of Thailand, Pad Thai has been named one of the world’s most iconic dishes by a travel website.
“Pad Thai comprises stir-fried rice noodles, egg, bean sprouts and peanuts,” NNT wrote in its dispatch, posted just before a report warning against reading political news. “The dish is normally served with lime wedges.”
