A two day booze ban will be in effect tomorrow and Thursday across the nation for two religious holidays.

All entertainment venues and retailers are forbidden from selling alcohol as the kingdom marks Asanha Bucha and Khao Phansa, or Buddhist Lent.

The ban will be enforced when the clock hits midnight tonight until Thursday night at midnight.

Those stocking up on their fix in the Rajamangala Stadium area are advised to stay off the roads as a highly anticipated footie match between two English premier teams is to commence this evening and will likely snarl traffic with heavy congestion.
