Imagine if the BTS took you directly to Don Mueang Airport while Wat Phra Kaew sat just above another entrance to the sprawling MRT subway system. All of this will happen – so the plan goes – to Bangkok by 2029, the year current and planned Skytrain and subway projects are scheduled to finish.
Although this scope of construction may seem like something unheard of in most 21st Century urban centers, hopefully with a little urban planning luck, the 13 rail lines will unite the inner city and outlying suburbs for a more mobile future.
