Thailand rocked by Kuwait in AFC Asian Cup qualifying

The Thai national team turned in a less than subpar performance against the Kuwaitis at Rajamangala Stadium on Wednesday, falling 3-1 on their home turf.

Sadly the War Elephants failed to replicate the attacking style which served them well during the AFF Suzuki Cup back in December. Speaking with reporters after the match, Thai national manager Winfried Schafer acknowledged his squad had some difficulty adapting to the physicality of the Kuwaiti side.

This seemed to be a recurrent theme as several other Asian teams came up short against their Middle Eastern counterparts. China fell to Saudi Arabia 2-1, Singapore was ripped by Jordan 4-0 and Malaysia lost to Qatar 2-0.
