Thai League Football roundup: Drums and megaphones banned at Air Force United

Last weekend, frustratingly, not only was the Thai Premier League suspended in preparation for yesterday’s Thailand and Qatar friendly, but none of the Bangkok teams in Division one were playing at home. Luckily, there was plenty of intrigue and online chatter to keep us occupied…

Air Force United, a Division one team based in Bangkok’s northern suburbs have been ordered by the Thai Premier League to ban drums and megaphones from main stands as they annoy fellow fans. Judging by the cavernous rows of empty terracing at the Thupatemee Stadium, life would be better if they invited more musicians.

Bangkok FC’s Englishman Lee Tuck won last year’s Golden Boot and has already scored three in his first two games.

Bangkok’s best supported Division one team Singtarua (formerly known as Thai Port) are sitting pretty at the top of the league after two games.
