Singdam Kiatmoo9 has been facing the best fighters in Thailand every month whereas Saketdao Petphayathai has not featured regularly in the main stadiums recently and the unsurprisingly former was able to comfortably defend his Lumpinee Lightweight Belt in the main event tonight.
There was plenty of drama elsewhere on a card which contained more than its fair share of knockdowns and knockouts, the most dramatic of which came in the fight between Chockpreecha K.Sakooncher and Mondam S.Veerapol.
Chokpreecha was his normal aggressive self as the two went toe to toe in the opening rounds with Mondam on the receiving end of a series of straight left hands from the southpaw but firing back with a few solid elbows of his own.
Mondam landed a straight right hand early in the second which snapped Chokpreecha’s head back but didn’t deter him from pressing forwards and taking the fight to the taller fighter with a series of left elbows.
Mondam was firing back intermittently with long knees and teeps but Chokpreecha’s aggression seemed to be winning the day until he walked straight into a right cross in round three which dropped him. He was barely able to get to his feet, let along recover sufficiently to be able to continue fighting, and the referee called off the contest.
Superlek Wor Sangpraphai was also on the wrong end of a 10 count which probably cost him the fight against Choknumchai Sitjakong. He went for it in the final round, after being dropped by a perfectly timed right elbow in the fourth, but was unable to claw back the deficit on the scorecards.
Rittidet Wor.Wanthavi was awarded for his aggression with a second round stoppage of Newwangjan Pagornponsurin. Rittidet pressed forward in the opening round throwing uppercuts and hooks and consistently ending his combinations with low kicks, an investment which paid dividends when Newwangjan collapsed early in the second round having taken one too many blows to his left thigh.
The fight between Yokphet Sompongmabtaput and Wanchalong Sitzornong did not end so decisively as the two southpaws matched each other for five rounds with the judges ruling in favour of Yokphet at the end of a contest which could easily have gone either way.
The fight between Petboonchu FA Group and Wanchalerm Udonmuang was cancelled due to illness.
