Muang Thong waits with bated breath for Teerasil’s arrival in China

Thailand’s Muang Thong United is waiting with bated breath in Guangzhou, China for the arrival of its star player – Teerasil Dangda, who is stuck back at home in Thailand, attempting to clear up an issue with his military service obligation.

The Nation reports that Teerrasil is expected to arrive for the match between Muang Thong and its Guangzhou belligerents mere hours before kickoff.

Originally, Teerasil’s military service was not supposed to conflict with the match, but the conscription at Don Muang district was postponed until today, potentially conflicting with Muang Thong’s schedule.

This Group F match offers Muang Thong an opportunity to secure its first win in the continent’s elite club competition.

Muang Thong coach Slavisa Jokanovic played down fears about Teerasil’s late arrival.

“Teerasil arriving here on match day shouldn’t be a problem,” said Jokanovic. “He’s very professional. Though he has to take a long flight and will have no time to rest afterwards, there are no doubts about his fitness.”
