DARE is an MMA (mixed martial arts) championship where grown men brutalize each other in an octagonal ring for the chance to split USD1 million. It’s happening this Saturday at Insomnia Nightclub on Sukhumvit Soi 12.
For those that don’t know, MMA is pretty huge around the world. DARE is the first professional MMA promotion in Thailand and is an effort to promote the sport in the country.
The event will feature tournaments in eight different weight classes:
• Fly weight: Less than 57 kg
• Bantamweight: 57 – 61 kg
• Featherweight: 61 – 66 kg
• Lightweight: 66 – 70 kg
• Welterweight: 70 – 77 kg
• Middleweight: 77 – 84 kg
• Light heavyweight: 84 – 93 kg
• Heavyweight: 93 – 120 kg
The schedule for the event is as follows:
– 15:00 – Doors to DARE 2/2012 event and to Club Insomnia opens. Broadcasting starts at darelive.tv and on the screens at the Garden Terrace.
– 16:00 – Fights start
– 19:30 – (Approx.) After party begins at the Garden Terrace
– 22:00 – After party continues inside Club Insomnia
