Liverpool to play at Rajamangala next year

English football club Liverpool will play a friendly match in Bangkok next year.

The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) made the announcement Wednesday that the Reds would play on July 24 at Rajamangala Stadium.

Liverpool has supposedly promised that stars including Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez will play in the match, the Bangkok Post reported.

The FAT has also contacted Premier League champs Manchester City to try to arrange a match in Bangkok, but talks have not yet begun, said FAT secretary-general Ong-arj Kosinkha.

Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United are also scheduled to visit Bangkok for a match against a Thai All-Star Team in July.

With the Futsal World Cup approaching, the Race of Champions in December, and rumors of Formula One running in Bangkok in 2014, makes us glad we started a sports section!
