Teerasil Dangda arrived at Madrid airport earlier this week. In what seems to be a statement of intent, the young Thai striker chose not to wear a coat but instead to brave the icy Madrid winter in just his Muang Thong-issue suit.
After a few photo opportunities and an interview, the fearless Teerasil, along with a number of Muang Thong youth team players who are also on trial at Atletico Madrid, left the airport to begin a three-week Spanish adventure.
Prior to his departure for Spain, Teerasil played with Muang Thong in a Jan. 8 exhibition match against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven at the SCG Stadium. The Dutch squad beat the Thai Premier League champions 2-0. A number of Atletico Madrid executives were in the stands to watch Teerasil. The young striker failed to show the sort of form that set the Thai Premier league alight last season, squandering a number of opportunities in front of the goal.
