The Thai government has just added an extra day off added to the Songkran holiday.
Initially, the Songkran break was on the books for April 13-16, but this afternoon the cabinet has added an extra day off on Thursday, April 12, making Songkran a full five-day holiday.
That’s a whole lot of water fights for those that choose to stay in the country.
The government’s reason for the extra day off is to allow for more time for Thais to visit their hometown and encourage domestic travel…as if all the Thais aren’t gonna go to Japan.
