Search any pond anyhwere and you’re bound to find something lying forgotten on its bottom. Like a grease-sealed bomb ready to be armed and detonated. But dozens of them?
When villagers found the first they called the bomb squad, who this morning discovered a cache of more than 20 such bombs hidden at the bottom of a pond east of Bangkok
Pond 54 in tambon Sa Si Liem of Phanat Nikhom district. The explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit and police were called in.
The bombs were apparently manufactured in Thailand.
Police this afternoon were continuing to search the pond for more bombs, Bangkok Post reported.
