There are few things which terrify middle class-and-up Bangkokians like vocational school students.
So netizens took great delight in two videos uploaded Tuesday showing army soldiers shaking down teenage students, from which they appear to seize several long, ugly looking blades.
A couple dozen students were ordered off a public bus near the Bang Na intersection by soldiers who then discovered the shivs while searching their bags, recounts the Bangkok Post. The students were then ordered onto a waiting military truck.
Many comments online praised the soldiers for going after the young men, who enjoy a reputation for casual gang violence. There didn’t seem to be any objections to the apparent lack of due process for the boys.
