Soi Dog’s video about amputee dog ‘Cola’ on shortlist for Brit film award

An inspiring short movie about Cola, a dog rescued by Soi Dog Foundation after losing both of his front legs, has been added to the shortlist for England’s 2017 Charity Film Awards.

Cola’s sad yet inspiring story has become quite well-known. He had his two front legs crudely chopped off with a sword by a Thai man for the offense of chewing the man’s shoes.

The resulting 2016 film, about Cola’s recovery and use of two prosthetic legs, is called “Love Will Always Triumph Over Evil.”

The one-minute movie shows how Cola can walk and run just as he used to. The dog was so touching to the workers at Soi Dog Foundation that he was adopted by the charity’s co-founder Gill Dalley, who was also a double amputee from injuries sustained while rescuing animals. Sadly, she passed away last month from cancer. Her husband, John Dalley, now takes care of Cola.

Despite the sad nature of the story, the movie’s message is about hope, love, and recovery.

The video is nominated in the “People’s Choice” slot for the awards. Watch the video and cast a vote for the film here before March 10.
