A Nakhon Si Thammarat real estate agent made an offering of 100 pig heads and 999 eggs yesterday at the sacred shrine of “Tuad Pu Chee,” since he believes that the shrine’s supernatural powers helped him succeed at his job.
Rathapat Panman, 40, and his mother Hieng, 84, led over 50 villagers in a traditional procession where they danced to live drummers.
Rathapat said he took an oath at the Tuad Pu Chee shrine (or “Great Grandfather Chee” in English) promising that, if he succeeded at his new job, he would return with an offering of 100 pig heads and 100 eggs.
The spirit answered his prayer. Rathapat said he made millions of baht after he started his new job as a real estate agent.
In addition, the offering was considered merit-making for his mom’s 84th birthday.
After the ceremony, Rathapat offered the pig heads and eggs to the villagers for their dinner tables.
