Silver screen senior ‘Pairote Jaising’ raises money for care after stroke

He may have one of the best-known faces in the kingdom, but now a 74-year-old acting legend is selling towels to stay alive.

Retro movie fans would immediately recognize the face of Pairote Jaising, who’s played every role in more than 100 movies since the ‘70s.

Yesterday Pairote and wife Chotirote announced to the press they are selling Buddhist monks’ towels for THB1,000 to raise money to help with the actor’s hospital bills.

Announcing his sickness to the press this past August, Pairote is still struggling with several health conditions such as a stroke, hypertension, swollen heart and a swollen prostate.

“We have had many people help us since Pairote got sick,” Chotirote said. “Now we want to give a little something back to the donors, which is to offer monks their towels and make merit with us.”

Singha Corporation funded their towel project, Chotirote added, as Pairote was the first presenter of Leo beer, Khaosod reported.
