In 14 years of operation, the BTS Skytrain system never had a day like Monday.
Although the much-anticipated “Bangkok Shutdown” doesn’t seem to have brought the capital to its knees, it did succeed in keeping motorists off the road, resulting in the biggest day ever for the light-rail, elevated train system.
On Monday a record 905,746 commuters rode the system, according to the company.
