Shoef*cker: Bangkok man confesses to sexual relations with stolen flip-flops

There’s no law against a good foot fetish, nor is getting freaky with some fetching flip-flops a crime – unless you happen to steal hundreds of them to make love to without consent.

Police in northwest metro Bangkok said today that a 24-year-old man is heading to court after he confessed to stealing more than 100 pairs of flip-flops that he stashed at home and had sex with.

Yep.

Lt. Col. Thansakorn Konthong of Bang Sri Muang police said Teerapat Klaiya was soon due in court, four days after officers discovered at least 126 snatched sandals at his Nonthaburi home. Shoes of all colors and shapes were reportedly discovered in his residence, where, we regret to tell you, Teerapat said he would wear them, touch them, then unleash his sexual desires upon them.

Police found he had a prior record for shoe theft. They did not say what would become of the violated footwear, or whether anyone wanted it back.

Teerapat’s erotic world of rubbery release came crashing down Monday after security camera footage of him filching someone’s footwear led Bang Sri Muang district police to his home.

The policeman said Teerapat was pretty much their first and only suspect, because he had a long rap sheet of priors for stealing footwear in districts around the northwest metro province, most recently in October. So the May 22 report of a man stealing some duds at about midnight wasn’t a real mystery to solve. The 126 pairs of stolen shoes found at his home closed the case.

Like the most colorful villains, Teerapat’s origin story began tragically. He told police his parents abused him by throwing shoes at him when he was a young boy, and his foot fetish blossomed from that. He has been thieving people’s kicks since he was 13.

A relative said, perhaps redundantly, that he was psychologically disturbed.

In court, Teerapat will answer charges that include night-time robbery and burglary, as well as violating the emergency decree by being out after curfew.
