Given few objections were raised to the extra holiday added to last month’s Mother’s Day holiday, officials are now floating the idea of doing the same with Friday, Jan. 2.
That would make for a five-day weekend instead of lamely returning to work that day.
Tourism officials seeking triage to recouperate the crisis-battered tourism industry have proposed the idea to increase spending and domestic tourism, according to Thai PBS.
