The secret to longevity? Vegetables and chili paste

According to the Nation, two women in the Muang district of Nakhon Ratchasima, both of whom are over 100 years old, have come forward with what they regard as the secret to a long and healthy life—vegetables and chili paste.

Nim Roonmai, 105, and Fak Krathinmai, 103, said that their traditional diet had helped them maintain a spry countenance clear up to and over their centennials.

Samruay Chunkoh, the mayor of Tambon Banmai in the Muang district, said that his province houses many citizens over the age of 90, all of whose longevity is attributable to their rural lifestyle.
