‘Satanist’ says he killed metal band’s singer for bad job worshiping devil

We didn’t know devil worship had so many rules.

Apparently the lead singer of a Bangkok black metal band broke some of them, at least in the eyes of his killer, who allegedly described the murder in detail on Facebook and expressed enthusiasm for killing 30 more bogus Satan-lovers.

Samong Traisattha also known as “Avichi,” the 36-year-old lead singer of a black metal band ‘Surrender of Divinity’ was stabbed to death in his house in the Saimai district Wednesday.

The musician’s wife, Jaruwan Surapol, told police that the killer was Prakarn Harnphanbusakorn, a fan of her husband’s band who stopped by to have a drink with her husband in the living room.

Jaruwan put her child to bed on the second floor and came back down an hour later to find her husband lying dead in a pool of blood. Prakarn was gone.

On Friday, Facebook user “Maleficent Meditation,” whom police believe to be Prakarn, wrote about the motive for killing the singer:

“My motive for killing is nothing much,” the maleficent one mused. “I have intended to commit suicide since I turned 25. Because I’ll die eventually, I want to drag down those who tarnish Satanism with me, and Satan has told me he liked what I did.”

Maleficent went on to describe the ethical basis of his amorality.

“I meditate every day, and I’ll refrain from killing women and children,” he said “At least they need to know Satan is not an object they can hail on stage without truly worshipping him.”

And not everyone is on his hit list:

“In my view, I have more respect for devoted Buddhists, Christians and Muslims than those who call themselves Satanists without knowing anything about it,” the theological dissident described. “If I hadn’t killed him, someday he would have been murdered anyway.”

Indeed.

The writer also claims he’d like to take out another 20 to 30 more people, and complained the police made a wrong assumption the murder resulted from a drunken argument.

“Going to his house, I intended to kill him, and I had my knife hidden in my jacket,” Maleficent wrote to set the record straight. “I faced him and stabbed him more than 30 times. I watched him squirm and beg for his life. I never knew stabbing someone to death was much more entertaining than shooting. I never regret what I’ve done.”

The police are still searching for Prakarn, Sanook and Bangkok Post reported.
