Surrender of Divinity on mini tour ‘Manifest Blasphemy in Nippon 2012’
A self-described Satanist accused of murdering the singer of a black metal band last month before vowing to kill more turned himself in yesterday.
Prakarn Harnphanbusakorn, 26, reportedly confessed at the Sai Mai district police station to killing Samong “Avichi” Traisattha, the 36-year-old lead singer of Surrender of Divinity after his adoptive father urged him to do so.
Although Prakarn, accompanied by his father and lawyer Prakong Harnphanbusakorn, made the confession, he claims to have acted in self defense.
Prakarn told the police on Jan. 8 he went to Samong’s home where the two drank beer and discussed politics. As their conversation turned into a dispute, Prakarn told police it was Samong who attacked him with a knife before he wrested it away and stabbed the singer to death then fled.
Cops are expressing skepticism over that version of events, particularly after Prakarn later bragged about killing Samong five days later on Facebook. In his messages, “Maleficent Meditation,” identified by police as Prakarn, said he killed Samong – who considered the younger man a fan – for “tarnishing” Satanism and vowed to kill “20 to 30” more people.
At the time, Samong’s wife Jaruwan Surapol, who found her husband dead after putting their child to bed, identified Prakarn as the killer.
A press conference regarding Prakarn’s confession will be held later today, Manager reported
