Thais that live and work in the Mae Nam section of Koh Samui have called in reporters to photograph their nasty beach in hopes of getting the attention of the government, who they want to clean up their sea front.

The dirty beach, which teems with garbage and whose waters are foul and dark, has been abandoned by tourists worried about their health and safety in that area.

The residents and business owners say it has been like this for a long time and that it’s unpleasant and costs them business. Residents say that they have already asked local officials for help, but they have done nothing, reported TNews (77Jowo).

Apparently, filth water flows from the nearby town center straight into the sea. This mean raw sewage in the water that causes the awful smell. There is also lots of garbage on the beach.

Residents say that the beach damages the image of Samui as a holiday paradise but, surely, they are responsible for the garbage and waste if tourists do not use the beach.
