The saga continues for Olympic badminton players

The now infamous brawl is being considered the most vicious attack in badminton history. Wednesday night both players returned to Thai soil on separate flights.

22-year old Bodin “Art” Issara claims that he is eager to rekindle his friendship with his previous partner Maneepong Jongjit. Art issued a public apology earlier this week and in an attempt to right-the-wrong he sent Maneepong a Line message expressing his remorse. Art told the press Wednesday night, “There has been no response (from Maneepong).”

The Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) will convene tomorrow at a press conference to address Art’s punishment. He will likely face a 6-month suspension.

“I would like to apologize for defaming the country’s image. Now I’m waiting for measures from both the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Association of Thailand against me. Then I will decide what to do next about my career,” said Art.

Despite coming face-to-face at the luggage carousel in Suvarnabhumi Airport the former Olympic duo escaped the terminal without scratches. Maneepong has maintained silence throughout the debacle, as reported by The Nation
