A Bangkok cop with a sordid past died Friday after shooting himself in the head, police said today.
Police Lt. Col. Kanissorn Boonluang liked to gamble and hurt his wife, a senior police official said, which led to him being shot in August on order of his mother in law.
Kanissorn tried to hang himself once before, according to Police Maj. Gen. Thitirat Nongharnpitak, and investigators have sagely concluded that “personal problems” led to his suicide. He was found dead in his home; investigators discovered gunpowder on his hands.
Kanissorn had reportedly been unwell as he rehabilitated after being shot while riding his bicycle on Aug. 27 in Bang Yi Rua district, where he worked as a police inspector, Bangkok Post reported.
