A Russian tourist snatched grilled chicken from a perplexed street vendor near Pattaya’s Walking Street before jumping into the sea “to find his friend” yesterday.
According to Jitlada Kamkaew, the 27-year-old vendor, the Russian man stole all of her 10 chicken sticks she’d prepared for another customer and quickly ran into the water off Bali Hai pier around 4am yesterday.
When a Thai man decided to step in and help the tourist up from the water, he started yelling that a friend is waiting for him in the middle of the sea, Daily News reported.
The Russian man was still shouting when police arrived the scene, so they took him to the police station to calm down. He would not tell the cops his name.
Jitlada did not press charges against the man, adding “We all have these moments that we lose our minds.”
Police said they had tested his urine for drug use, but the results were negative.
The police just let him go after the man had calmed down.
