While there are countless stories of people falling off balconies across Thailand for a variety of reasons — this is the rare case of two people falling together.
A Russian father and daughter, Maksim Kretov, 42, and Valeriya Kretov, 16, on vacation in Pattaya, both survived a fall from the second story early on Thursday morning, but sustained serious injuries, reported The Nation.
The daughter has a head injury and the father broke his leg in the incident that occurred at The Gallery Hotel-Condo in Jomtien just after midnight.
Security guard Nattaporn Chomngarm said that he heard members of the family talking on the balcony, and then he heard a scream and saw movement. He believes they were sitting on a ledge with their legs hanging off the edge of the balcony and that their falls were accidental.
