Can you really blame them for dreaming? Living on one of the partiest islands in the world, surrounded by sun-etched babes, holding avoskas overflowing with sweet green nugs? Life becomes a kind of Matryoshka doll, where opening something awesome just reveals more awesome inside. It was enough to make a young man feel like a real boss.
So although we can’t really fault Serge and Constantin for taking the rational step and capitalizing on their lifestyles, police on Koh Phangan did take exception when they started advertising their homemade bongs openly on Facebook under the brand “Bong Russian Boss.”

The now defunct “Bong Russian Boss” page on Facebook
Yesterday the dream came crashing down for the two bosses when police arrested the pair, both 29, during a raid on their home during which they reportedly found eight Russians, a bong and 304 grams of weed.
The crack police squad was tipped off by their Facebook page advertising their sweet hand-cut bamboo bongs and the shot of at least one boss lounging on a bed of cannabis, according to the News Khaosod English Bosses, who could have been suspected of making an April Fool were they not so serious-face all the time.
“They made their own bongs to smoke marijuana with their friends, and then announced that they would sell the bongs to compatriots on the island, because they didn’t think it would violate Thai laws,” police Col. Prachum Ruengthong said. Prachum also explained that Serge and Constantin were pretty famous for their Russians-only ragers.
The bosses were half-right: Possessing a bong is not illegal, but having a house full of weed goes at least one toke over the legal line.
While police were kind enough to withhold their full names, the young entrepreneurs were charged with possession while the other six Russians were released without charge.
