A fulminous cry belched from the stygian depths as another hellmouth opened below Saraburi province yesterday.
A road running alongside a canal split dramatically after part of it subsided three meters, the after effects of which prompted local police to pose for photographs while pointing in a reassuring way toward the scary breach.
The growing drought problem was blamed for the shifting earth, as the water level in the nearby canal has fallen severely. Saraburi highway workers erected barriers to block off traffic.
The cost of repair is estimated THB10 million.
Luckily no motorists were injured or dragged into hell, Thai PBS reported.
