Retro Tokyo: Photog filters Bangkok youth through ‘80s Japan cool

That certain ‘80s aesthetic, attitude and style that put Tokyo at the bleeding edge of cool by remixing Japanese and American influences became the global trend, no less so here in Thailand.

Tokyo-born photographer Kengo Otake expresses his perspective on Bangkok youth through that lens at his exhibition, “Bangkok Attitude.”

His images reflect the carefree and assertive expression of attitude and style while still hewing to mostly traditional values found in today’s youth.
