A girl, 5, was murdered in the Srisawat neighborhood of Kanchanaburi on Sunday. Her body was found hidden in a fertilizer sack and discarded near a septic system not far from where she lived with her mother.
Police examination revealed that she’s had her throat cut and died six to eight hours before she was found, reported Thai PBS.
The young girl’s distraught mother said that she returned home from work, as she regularly did, at 6pm and could not find her daughter.
She checked with relatives that lived nearby, and they confirmed that no one had seen the girl since mid-day on Sunday.
The began the search themselves and found the girl’s lifeless body, just 100 meters from her house.
Neighbors pointed police toward a man with mental health issues who lived nearby but disappeared around the time of the girl’s death.
Officers are trying to track him down now.
