For the past five years, Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidya has dodged court dates and escaped on private jets abroad, but the process to revoke the Red Bull heir’s passport has begun.

After Vorayuth, the suspect in a 2012 hit-and-run case in which a Thong Lor cop was killed, refused to report to court for the eighth time last Tuesday, an arrest warrant for him was issued, and the police sent their request to Department of Consular Affairs to have his passport canceled, Bangkok Post reported.

Immigration records show that Vorayuth left Thailand on April 25, two days before he was scheduled to hear charges for the fatal accident. His whereabouts are unknown, according to Pol. Maj. Gen. Apichart Suriboonya, chief of the Royal Thai Police’s Foreign Affairs Division.

Apichart said Thailand has sent a letter to the UK National Central Bureau for Interpol to confirm his entrance into the United Kingdom, the foreign country where he was last spotted with his family in April and where he often claims to be when he can’t make court dates, usually citing business obligations or health treatments.

If Vorayuth is not in the UK, Interpol will issue an international alert to its 190 member countries to locate the Red Bull heir.

The case has raised questions about whether the justice system favors the rich and famous.
