Ratchayothin roadway passover to be spared

Motorists will be able to continue sitting in traffic over other people sitting in traffic as a planned demolition of the Ratchayothin flyover has been canceled.

More than a month after warning the public that construction of the Green Line would snarl traffic by removing two such passovers, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority announced it would not incite the public by tearing it down to make way for its trains.

Why tear it down when you can just build a bigger bridge to go over it? Officials announced they would do just that, building the elevated rail line just a bit higher to pass over both the road flyover and road.

Nothing was said of the passover at Kasetsart intersection, which is also slated for removal.

The northern Green Line will connect Mo Chit through Sapan Mai to Khu Kot, Thai PBS reported.
