A video clip of a spicy brawl between a monk and a woman emerged online today and it definitely has the potential to go viral within the Thai internet community.
The 45-second film, re-uploaded by YouTube user Max Hymas, showed the monk hitting a woman on her shoulder, slaping her face and pulling her hair before pushing her down to the floor. The monk is believed to be a high-ranking monk in Chanthaburi.
Buddhist monastic disciplines state that a monk cannot be alone with a woman and cannot touch a woman, let along having a fight with a one.
As the video circulates, one thing to keep in mind is that many twists and turns could still be added to the story surrounding the fight. Already, YouTube user qishikung, who claims to be an insider in this story, is insisting that the monk was purely innocent.
“The woman just went straight to squeeze the monk’s balls and tried to pull him down to the floor into a sexual position where he was on top,” commented qishikung. “He hit her shoulder in order to let himself go. The video shooter is the woman’s husband, who attempted to use the clip to blackmail him. Both of them are alcoholics and stay in this temple.”
