Suvarnabhumi’s bathrooms are getting a ‘chic’ makeover

In its continuing efforts to proffer bizarre solutions to widely acknowledged problems, the management of Suvarnabhumi Airport has decided to beautify Thailand’s largest transit hub by retrofitting the passenger terminal with “chic” lavatories that will “make a long lasting impression on airport users.”

Seven toilets within Suvarnabhumi’s terminal will be retrofitted with their own, unique themes. “River of Life” (gross?) and “Street Life” are already completed. “Festival,” “Move Around,” “Happy Moment,” “Flower Market” and “Sea Sight” are yet to come.

This story from the National News Bureau of Thailand offers a sneak peak at one of the beautified lavatories and a chance to observe the following sentence in its natural habitat: “Interactive technology has been used in the creation, which gives toilet users different feelings when they enter the rooms to take care of personal businesses.”

All right then.
