A discharged soldier from Nan Province in northern Thailand recently displayed his capsicum consuming prowess by eating 50 chilies in one sitting and then smearing more all over his face.
Kiet Pang-ud, from Chalermprakiat District of Nan Province, showed no visible signs of suffering from the reckless chili consumption, TANN reported. He didn’t sweat or shed any tears, to the astonishment of onlookers.
Kiet said that he had been eating hot chilies since he was 11 years old and that he did not feel any heat at all. He said that his friends often challenged him to eat different types of hot chilies and that he simply wanted to test a local barbecue shop’s claim that it had the hottest chilies in the area.
But deputy director of Nan Provincial Hospital Dr. Pongthep Wongwatcharapaiboon warned against anyone else trying to copy Kiet’s stunt, as that amount of spiciness can kill a man.
We’re going to stay on the safe side and heed Dr. Pongthep’s warning.
