Pete Doherty gets the boot from Chiang Mai luxury rehab center

British rocker Pete Doherty has been booted from the expensive rehab camp in Chiang Mai where he had been trying to kick addictions to crack cocaine and heroin.

The singer was politely asked to leave The Cabin Chiang Mai for “therapeutic” reasons, music blog Electric Banana reported.

Alastair Mordey, the director of The Cabin, had this to say about the star’s early departure:

Pete was discharged today for therapeutic reasons. It is important to maintain the integrity of the treatment program for the other clients to have a good chance of recovery. Pete understands this and therefore the reasons behind why we have asked him to leave.

Although our parting with Pete is amicable, we are of course disappointed to see him leave. We hope some of the things he has learnt here will help him in the future and look forward to the day when Pete decides to consider recovery again.

The Daily Mail reported that Doherty was booted from the £7,200 rehab center because he was being a disruptive influence on other addicts.

Doherty is best known for fronting rock group the Libertines in the early 2000’s and dating supermodel Kate Moss.

Here’s Cabin director Mordey extolling the virtues of their program:
