Thai superstar Thongchai “P’Bird” McIntyre is at it again, appearing in a newly released Tourism Authority of Thailand promo video Ron Hai Tham Mai (“Why the tears?”) targeted at the Chinese market.
P’Bird plays the Thai tour guide for a Chinese travel group who falls in love (too much, so much, very much right now) with Taiwanese vixen Sonia Sui. The ever-so-handsome star takes the group to such notable sites as Hua Hin Beach, Kao Tao Beach, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Chatuchak Weekend Market, Giant Swing, and Yaowarat Road, still finding time to sneak off for romantic moments with his new lady.
There’s just one catch: The female love interest has a lurking, jealous boyfriend (Chinese? Thai? Why is he on the trip? So confused) following the group with a gang of henchmen.
Things are going swimmingly for the new couple until [SPOILER ALERT] one of the spurned boyfriend’s bad guys literally snipes P’Bird. That is, he shoots him with a high-powered sniper rifle.
Not sure if that’s the best promotional material for the type of things that happen in Thailand, but whatever. TAT’s Amazing Thailand advertising campaign continues to amaze.
“How will this love story end?”, the video asks? You’ll have to watch here to find out. Thanks to CNNGo for discovering.
