A YouTube video uploaded earlier this week shows two street sweepers resorting to violence in their attempts to chase away a homeless man from a parking lot in the Mo Chit area.
The moment was captured in a YouTube video named, “Are you Thai? This happened at Mo Chit.” The video shows a homeless man sitting on the floor with a pair of street sweepers cleaning around him. Apparently regarding the homeless man as a nuisance, the male sweeper grabs a stick and hit thim from the back.
Videographer Phober Optic described the situation in the about section: “I could not shoot the earlier moment when he was hit almost ten times … the homeless man might have been fallen asleep out of fatigue after colleting bottles … He was hit and scolded at until he moved to sit under an overpass.”
After the video clip was posted, Thai netizens aggressively criticized the couple for their lack of empathy.
